Properly designated as the 1st Special Service Force, the Devil’s Brigade was a joint World War II American-Canadian commando unit trained at Fort Harrison near Helena, Montana in the United States. Many modern American and Canadian Special Forces units trace their heritage to this unit. The Royal Canadian Mint commemorates these fearless special forces with a limited production gold coins, crafted with .9999 fine gold. Classified as Canadian legal tender, each coin is guaranteed for weight and purity by the Royal Canadian Mint. Due to their fineness, these bullion coins can be included in precious metals IRAs.
Obverse: The Heroes of Two Nations coin features the bust of Queen Elizabeth II on the obverse.
Reverse: The reverse displays an American Star and Canadian Maple Leaf bracketing the Devil’s Brigade insignia: a spearhead emblazoned with “USA” and “Canada”.
Uncirculated condition and limited production. Available individually, or 1/4 oz. coins in sheets of 20 and 1/10 oz. coins in sheets of 40.
